GPs from across Sheffield want patients to log in and have their say on out of hours treatment in the city.
The Central Sheffield GP Consortium has launched a survey as part of their new Sheffield Health website, to find out what patients think of current out of hours services and how they could be improved.
These give people access to GPs and healthcare outside normal surgery opening hours, at weekends and Bank Holidays.
There are currently a wide range of services available in Sheffield, such as the Sheffield GP Out of Hours Collaborative at Hallamshire Hospital, A&E, night nursing services and a 24-hour phone line.
Sharon Turner, Practice Manager at Northern Avenue Surgery and a leading member of the Consortium, said: “We have launched this survey in the hope that patients will come forward and let us know what they think about out of hours services in Sheffield.
“There are a lot of facilities available for people who need to see a GP or health specialist outside of normal surgery hours and it will be interesting to see how many people are aware of what’s out there, as well as what their experiences of out of hours care have been like.
“Once we’ve collated all the results, we will be able to use them to help improve services and care across the city.”
The Central Sheffield GP Consortium, which was launched in August 2006, brings GP practices together to develop innovative solutions to improve the quality and delivery of medical services within the community.
Their new website will feature regular surveys on a variety of different aspects of healthcare, allowing patients to have their say and influence Sheffield’s GP services. To have your say on out of hours services in Sheffield, please visit: www.sheffieldhealth.co.uk
