Westfield Health employees were in full bloom this weekend as they planted daffodil bulbs at a local GP surgery.

Six members of staff, along with their friends and families, braved the wintery conditions to plant more than 1,000 bulbs at the new, state-of-the-art Dovercourt Surgery in Sheffield.

Kathy Town, Corporate Training and Development Manager at Westfield, said: “Westfield Health has enjoyed a good relationship with Dovercourt Surgery over the years, and their new premises look fantastic.

“We had such fun planting the bulbs. The Westfield employees who got involved brought along their friends and families and it was a great day. We can’t wait to see the daffodils in full bloom next spring.”

The bulbs were donated by Sheffield City Council which runs a spring initiative for groups in the city to plant bulbs in local areas.

Paul Wike, Practice Manager at Dovercourt Surgery, said: “We’re delighted that Westfield staff have planted the daffodils here at Dovercourt. I’m sure that when they’re in full bloom, they will lift the moods of both patients and staff after the cold, dark winter.

“The practice wants to engage with the community and work with both local schools and businesses. This is a great example of how we can join forces with a local organisation and produce something quite special.”
