Event: New Sloan GP Practice unveiled
Date: 3pm – 7pm, Thursday 3 December 2009
Venue: Virgin Active gym, Broadfield Road, Sheffield
Patients have the chance to see how their new state of the art surgery will look when plans of the £1.5m showcase Sheffield development are unveiled on Thursday.
Models, plans and drawings of the new Sloan GP Practice will be on display, as well as opportunities to discover environmentally friendly and technologically advanced aspects of the new build.
Residents are being asked to put forward ideas and views to Sloan Practice staff and members of the development team to decide what services would be most welcome in the centre.
A competition for school children to help design an emblem for the new practice, which is situated next to the Lidl on Chesterfield Road, will be launched.
Dr Ollie Hart, a GP at the practice, said: “Everybody at the surgery is very excited about the state-of-the-art facilities we’re going to have, so we’re very pleased to be able to share this with the residents who will make use of it.
“We’re still deciding the details of what extra services will be available at the new site, so residents can come forward to shape their surgery.”
Sloan Practice, which is currently located at 251 Chesterfield Road, is part of the Central Sheffield GP Consortium – a group of 27 practices that work together to improve the city’s healthcare services.
