For years Colin Wood suffered from a smoker’s cough and assumed he would just have to put up with it.
But a visit to his GP changed his life when he was diagnosed with COPD following a simple test at the surgery.
Colin from Lane Top, Sheffield, was shocked to discover that his lungs were working at just 41 percent of their capacity and without help he faced a lifetime reliant on oxygen to help him breathe.
But by joining a local pulmonary rehabilitation class he has been able to strengthen his lungs and improve overall energy levels.
Colin says he’s determined to remain as fit and healthy as possible to keep up with his grandchildren!
